Curt was born in Wisconsin in 1952. He trained at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, Fine Arts Department.  Additional classes and workshops throughout the last 25 years added to his art education.

  

Curt is influenced mostly by the European Impressionists who painted during the late 1840's through the 1900. He enjoys working thick and fast (ala prima), adding layers of color to build forms.

The  cover art for Saving Sailing is from an oil painting depicting larger sailing boats on the windward leg of a course race. Curt was seeking to capture the feelings of excitement and fun on a sunny light-winded day.
